The First Descendant’s first patch adds gameplay adjustments on Xbox

Players who complete The First Descendant achievements can download the free Xbox game’s first patch since launch, which appears to make some gameplay adjustments. Check out Patch Notes for The First Descendant Hotfix 1.0.1 The First Descendant had a bumpy start when it launched on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One in June, with players reporting a number of issues with the game’s performance and criticism of its microtransactions. Developer Nexon has been updating the list of known issues on The First Descendant’s website as players report them, and even offered up some free in-game items to make up for the bumpy launch.

The first update is here now, and while it doesn’t touch The First Descendant’s microtransactions, it does deliver a few gameplay tweaks and fixes an issue on Xbox Series X|S that caused AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution to malfunction. Among the gameplay tweaks, knockback and knockdown times have been sped up, the Eterlick Shield ability can now only be used once per stage, and players on Xbox One should no longer see headless players.
