Police are searching for a suspect who was driving recklessly in the San Fernando Valley area Thursday night.
The driver, in a red Toyota Prius, is believed to be driving a stolen vehicle.
The suspect was seen reaching speeds of 60-70 miles per hour on public roads, running red lights and driving on the wrong side of the road.
At one point, the suspect turned onto a dead-end side street. With nowhere to go, the driver slammed into a metal fence, shattering the windshield and leaving the vehicle with extensive damage to the front and driver’s side.
The chase began around 7:45 p.m., with the driver still speeding and several San Fernando police units closely following him.
