Gracie Abrams, who performed with Taylor Swift on her final night in London in June, revealed a joke Travis Kelce told her that helped keep her calm ahead of her guest appearance on the European leg of the singer’s ‘Eras’ tour.
The 24-year-old, the daughter of Star Wars director JJ Abrams, appeared on stage at Wembley last month to duet with the pop star for Swift’s hit ‘US’.
But nervous about her introduction to the sold-out crowd, Abrams found herself backstage with Kelce, about whom she recounted her sweet interaction on SiriusXM.
“Before we both performed, we were sitting in the tent and he went on right before me — I think he played two songs or something,” Abrams said.
“He was like, ‘I’m making a mistake so you can look really good.'”
The budding pop star, a California native, added that Kelce’s support was telling of the spirit among the people supporting Swift’s tour.
“It’s just a community of people who really support each other,” Abrams said, according to Billboard.
‘Honestly, everyone, whether you’re in the tent or in the top row of the stadium, it feels like everyone is there because there’s so much joy and emotion in all the music she’s released over the last 18 years.
“…It really is something magical.”
According to Britain’s Officials Charts Company, Abrams’ new album, “The Secret of Us,” outsold Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department,” the current No. 1 hit, in June.
